Undeniably, it is becoming increasingly difficult for Internal Auditors in the workplace to stay abreast of the rapidly changing environment of Internal Audit as well as organisational demands, both in the public and private sectors. Besides the increasing level of efficiency expected, the Internal Audit is also expected to focus on a myriad of Strategic, Governance, Compliance and Risk issues (both current and emerging) confronting the organization’s businesses which are ever growing in term of volume, complexity and geographical reach.
In order to cope with demand of the businesses and expectations of its stakeholders, the Internal Audit would have no other choice but to revisit and re-engineer its existing approach and processes starting from Audit Planning so as not to be caught in the famous saying: “Failing to plan is planning to fail”.
Critically evaluate its current Audit Planning approach and processes to gauge its position in relation to the demand and expectation of its stakeholders
Apply useful Audit Planning tools and approach to drive Audit Execution to improve resource allocation, enhance efficiency and quality of its final deliverables
Determine the strategies to adopt in enhancing partnership and to manage relationship with the immediate audit clients and other leadership team
